Los Angeles is most obviously known for its entertainment industry! In 2016, over 47 MILLION people visited LA. Besides LA being the filming location for over half of my favorite shows and movies, it has some of the most beautiful sights to see and incredible food. Heres some of the top spots you should plan to stop at during your trip to Los Angeles!

If you have access to a car or a ride, I highly suggest stopping by TV show filming locations. The first thing I did was drive around to see some of my favorite shows filming spots.
As a huge American Horror Story fan, I was able to locate the Murder House from the first season! The entire first season was filmed in the Alfred Rosenheim Mansion located at 1120 Westchester Place in Los Angeles.
A little further away but very noteworthy: Dexter and The Fosters filming locations. If you’re a fan of Dexter and remember the house him and Rita lived in together, you might think it’s filmed in Miami like the show says. However, the house is actually located at 3319 E. 1st Street in Long Beach.
If you’re able to make your way to Long Beach, The Fosters main filming location is filmed on the exact same street! If you are a fan of The Fosters and want to see the house they film in, it’s located at 2330 E. 1st Street in Long Beach!
After you’ve seen some filming locations, head over to the Hollywood Walk of Fame! Here you will find stars with all of your favorite celebrities names on them. Be prepared to walk around 20 blocks if you plan to see them all and take advantage of all of the gift shops and picture opportunities!
Although the entertainment industry and the presence of celebrities is a huge part of LA, the Los Angeles area is also known for its beaches!
An important place to stop by is the Santa Monica Pier! This pier, located at Santa Monica Beach, is fun for people of all ages! The beach is absolutely beautiful!
Another beach to visit is Venice Beach, AKA Muscle Beach. This beach is home to the Muscle Beach outdoor gym, a variety of shopping, and even a skate park! Around the beach you will find cute food spots and boutiques. Definitely a place you need to add to your list!
Stop along the Pacific Coast Highway for some breathtaking photos! This photo is located in Malibu, another must see place!
Who could forget the amusement parks in the area?! I had the opportunity to go to Universal Studios Hollywood! Universal is home to some of the best attractions including Harry Potter World! If you’re interested in going to Universal, make sure to plan to spend an entire day there! It may be a little pricey ($105-$116 a ticket depending on the dates), but it is worth it!
If you’re hungry at Universal and have a big appetite, grab a giant donut from Lad Donuts in KrustyLand!
And to the most important part of the trip…. The food!
The LA area is home to some of the funkiest food spots! Here are some of my favorite food experiences:
The Bun Shop
151 N Western Ave, Los Angeles
Located in Koreatown, this place is home to some of the tastiest pork buns! There are a large variety to choose from and they let you mix and match!
EggSlut
317 S. Broadway, Los Angeles
If you’re looking for a delicious but greasy breakfast, this is the place for you! Picture below is their bacon, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich with their iced coffee! One of the most yummy breakfasts ever!
800 Degrees Neopolitan Pizzeria
800 Wilshire Boulevard, Los Angeles
Might not be one of the fanciest pizza spots, but definitely reasonably priced! While in the Beverly Hills area, I was able to come across this pizza place who lets you customize your own pie! I was extremely surprised by the quality of the pizza and I highly recommend!
Little Damage
700 S. Spring Street, Los Angeles
If you’re in the downtown LA area, you MUST stop by this little ice cream shop. You’ll be sure to discover that this isn’t your average ice cream shop! They serve their ice cream in black cones and they have the most unique flavors I’ve ever seen!
The Corner Joint
14319 Hawthorne Boulevard, Lawndale
Looking for a funky bar for a Blood Mary? This place exceeded every expectation of a drink I could have ever had!
Project Poke
16051 Brookhurst Street, Fountain Valley
Although this place was a little far, it was my FAVORITE spot of them all. If you love Sushi and want to try a Sushi Burrito, this is the place for you.
Although these places are incredible, they are only a tiny part of how amazing the Los Angeles area really is! I hope these suggestions are helpful when planning your trip to Los Angeles! Enjoy! XOXO, Lacey
