Most people might know Seattle as the city that always rains. Well, there is way more to it than that. Around 20 million people visit this incredible city each year, and there is no questioning why they choose this place. Seattle is home to some of the biggest Fortune 500 Companies, including Amazon, Starbucks, etc. It is also the home of the University of Washington, one of the most prestigious universities in the country. Along with businesses and schools, Seattle is the home of the 2014 Super Bowl champions, the Seattle Seahawks! Seattle’s weather is usually a steady 70-80 degrees, so most people don’t even use air conditioning!

So what is there to do in Seattle? Check it out!
When searching online for things to do in Seattle, you’re likely to be told to visit Pike Place Market. There’s a reason why it is such a popular tourist spot! It is breathtaking. Not only will you be able to experience some great food, but you will see some amazing views since the market is right on the water!

When you visit Pike Place Market, there are a few foods that you MUST try. Make sure that when you visit, you show up with a full appetite!
First, you have to stop by Beecher’s. Beecher’s is known for its handmade cheese, where they literally make the cheese right in front of you. The mac & cheese is amazing and the cheese curds were mouthwatering!

I can’t forget Pike Place Chowder! The line to get this chowder was out the door and down Post Alley, put totally worth it! Pike Place Market is known for its Chowder! They have become so desired that they even ship out of state!

While you’re in the area of Pike Place, head over to the gum wall to add your own piece! The gum wall became a tourist attraction in 1999 after the city tried to scrape the gum away a few times. They eventually realized it had become a city tradition and that they couldn’t stop people from sticking their gum to the wall! This wall is a great place for photos! Who knew gum could make such a great art piece!

Looking to visit the Space Needle? This observation deck allows you to see the city of Seattle from 520 feet in the air! The ticket price changes throughout the day, so try to get there early in the morning for the lowest price of $19 for ages 13+ and $13 for ages 5-12! Although the tickets can be a little pricey, it is worth the experience!

Make sure to plan a long afternoon for the Space Needle and leave time to head next door to Chihuly Garden and Glass! The ticket prices are also pretty pricey. Luckily, if you plan to head to both places, they offer a package admission deal for a lower price! If you have the chance to attend both, I highly recommend! You won’t see views or artwork like this anywhere else!

If you are looking for a good breakfast spot and you are really hungry, I HIGHLY recommend Biscuit Bitch. (Pardon my language). Biscuit B*tch serves some of the most incredible breakfast comfort food I’ve ever tasted! I ordered a biscuit topped with gravy, sunny side up eggs, and bacon. I left in a food coma, but it was AWESOME.

Looking for a serious pie of pizza? Serious Pie has got you covered! With seven unique pies available on the menu, you are sure to find a pizza you love!

If you have a chance to catch the Seattle Water Taxi, head over to West Seattle. You will not regret it! Being on the Taxi heading across the water, I was able to catch some of the best pictures of the city. The island of West Seattle has so many fun things to do and it even has beaches! When you get to the island, you are going to want to immediately head over to Alki Beach. You will read online that this is the best spot for a fun time in West Seattle! You will not be disappointed! The beach had fun things to do for people of all ages. People were playing volleyball, there were tons of people across the street at bars, and the restaurants in the area were packed!

If you get bored of Alki Beach, rent a bike! I rode my bike around this entire island and saw some of the most beautiful homes and views.

Before leaving this gorgeous island, stop at the small restaurant right on the pier, Marination Ma Kai. This place is an adorable fusion of Hawaiian and Korean fare. This place can whip up some amazing flavors that you will definitely be impressed with!

When you make your way back to downtown Seattle, take a walk down by the piers. Make sure you’re wearing comfortable shoes because the walk back up the stairs is a killer! Make sure to check out the Seattle Great Wheel! Right on the water, this wheel will make sure you get some amazing views.

Catch a sports game! My boyfriend and I were lucky enough to get last minute seats to a Seattle Mariners game where they were versing the Yankees! Being from the New York area, we had to catch this game! Whichever sport it is, you will have a great time!

Some other noteworthy, non-pictured spots to see:
Seattle Aquarium! The aquarium, right on the water, had some amazing marine animals! They actually rescue some of their animals right from the waters of Seattle!
Some Random Bar. Yes, this is the name of the bar. It was the cutest little spot. If you are 21 and looking to bar hop, make sure to definitely stop here.
LOLA! Although this place is an awesome restaurant, I only came here for the bar. But, I also ended up coming for breakfast. While I was sitting at the bar, this couple ordered donuts. I thought this was weird at first, but the bartender let me try one. Lets just say that we were back right away the next morning to get ourselves an order. These donuts, served with mascarpone and jam, were phenomenal. If you are looking for a desert or a sweet breakfast, definitely make the trip to Lola!
So you’ve seen some of the spots you have to visit when in Seattle. Out of all of the cities I’ve visited, Seattle is my favorite and always will be! I hope this post has encouraged you to make a trip to this beautiful city! Thanks for reading!
